Allison Caunter is a documentary photographer interested in abandoned architecture. This image is part of a larger body of work that reflects upon deserted structures, left to become coffins in nature. The series of composites represents the significance of location and offers a counterpoint to the relentless desire for “the new and now.” Photographing across North America, Allison selects her source images carefully in order to create new architectural structures through compositing that emphasize themes of time and connection.
